Once upon a time there was a girl who loved to dream. She dreamed because she couldn't fly. She dreamed up a castle, but decided it would be hard to clean. She dreamed up a house just big enough for herself. She realized she wouldn't be able to keep other people out, so she dreamed her house into the sky. She dreamed up books and books about history, science, even books about art, and she spent all her time reading by herself, in her cottage in the sky. But after a while she started to get lonely and she was getting low on food. But by this time she was not a young girl anymore. She realized then, that somewhere along the way, she had forgotten how to dream.

Legend tells that if you look up into a cloud covered sky when you are feeling alone you can see her house float by, and hear her crying for lost friends.

If you spend all your time trying to get away from the world, soon enough you'll succeed and then you won't know how to get back.

Don't forget to dream.

I like it. It feels like it should be happy, suited for reading on a summer day under a tree. And then at the end there's this feeling of such loss... I like it except for the phrase "the moral we learn...". I think it throws off the balance of the piece. I think that whole last section could be left out without hurting the piece. That's all~ : D

"to communicate heartbreak in writing takes talent," she whispers, her fingers in his hair. "a good writer can make her readers cry."

Can't make you laugh.
Can't hear sounds of lovemaking.
Can't have your warmth at night when I'm cold.
Can't have you with me to make me feel better.
Can't have you to comfort me when things are hard.
You're my only can't.
Let me have one less can't.

What part did you leave out? I wanna read it!
